As head of the criminal legal aid programme at "Zhicheng Charity" (which holds UN Special Consultative Status), she led representation in Beijing's landmark "housing-for-elderly" large-scale fraud case, protecting the rights of hundreds of elderly victims. The case attracted nationwide media coverage and directly prompted the Ministry of Justice to issue the "Five Prohibitions" notice governing notarial practice.

这些年，我的工作每天都在和极端处境下的人打交道。我翻阅卷宗，研读尸检报告，在法庭上为面临最严重指控的人发声。很多人觉得这份工作沉重。但对我而言，它让我比大多数人更清楚地看到：人性有多复杂，生命有多珍贵。
For over a decade, my daily work has meant sitting with people at the worst moments of their lives. I read autopsy reports. I go through case files line by line. I stand in court for people accused of the most serious things a person can be accused of. This work has given me a clearer view than most of just how precious life is, and how layered human nature can be.
